Fifteen years ago meditation saved Mike's life. After suffering a debilitating concussion with retrograde amnesia, Mike was hopeless and they thought he would struggle with memory recall for the rest of his life. Mike fell into a deep depression and was riddled with anxiety and thoughts of suicide. A hippie named Martin taught Mike how to meditate and six months later, his memory and concentration returned - better then it ever was. This experience became a portal for Mike, opening the doors of curiosity and leading him into a deep exploration of consciousness.

Mike is a tech entrepreneur and leads international meditation, yoga and mindfulness retreats with his wife, Amy. His current passion project is Sensie, training an smartphone to detect sources of chronic stress via machine learning and muscle testing techniques. He helps support the team at RiseUp Ventures by teaching mindfulness and entrepreneurship to youthful offenders inside the prison system.

Are you a doctor?
I am not a medical professional, and I never have been. Rather, I am an experienced past sufferer. I have worked with many people who have or who are suffering. My experience stems from helping people achieve states of peak performance to helping people recover from high levels of chronic stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, and suicidal ideation. The clients I work with range from Olympic athletes, leading executives, founders of high growth startups, college students to people in the throes of addiction and youthful offenders inside the prison system. At the end of the day, stress is an equal opportunity employer. It does not matter your social class it affects us all the same -> illness. The Body Mind approach is rooted in my direct experience from the last 15 years of exploring everything from Western pharmacological based approaches to Eastern spiritual based approaches. I've also reviewed and explored hundreds of medical and scientific studies - all so that you do not have to and in the course will provide a link to the most relevant ones as we progress. In the recent years, while developing Sensieapp.com (detecting sources of stress with a smartphone) I have had the privilege to work along side and learn from some of the most fascinating PhD's, neuroscientists, and phenomenologists who are doing cutting edge research to help further the understanding of the Mind-Body phenomenon. Additionally, I have been through several traumatic experiences in my life and I've worked in some of the most competitive and stressful environments, which can be a breading ground for chronic stress. My goal is to share with you my experience, understandings and quick and easy methods that you can put into practice right away to help affect change in your life.
